Today's Morning Prayer
There’s a bible verse that says, “cast all your anxiety on God, because God cares for you.” (1Pt 5:7)
The reminder for us is that we cannot rely on what the world gives; the world simply isn’t able to give us what we need. We need to rely on—and lean into—every word that comes from the mouth of God our Lord, especially when we are overcome by anxiety. The scriptures remind us that we are God’s beloved, and we are not forgotten. Remember, “cast all your anxiety on God, because God cares for you.”
So let us pray in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord our God, as we take a deep breath this morning, we give you all our anxiety, and in exchange we breathe in and receive all the tender loving compassion you are offering. Help us to do this throughout our day.
We ask this through Christ our Lord as we pray in the words that he taught us: “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.”
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
God bless you always in Christ,
